Mikel Arteta reveals injury concern for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed his concern for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus following the club’s 4-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth on the road.

The Gunners secured a convincing victory over the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium. It was their third straight league win away from home this season with a clean sheet.

Towards the end of the game, Bukayo Saka was substituted with an injury after he was the subject of a rash challenge from Milos Kerkez which was not spotted by the referee.

When asked about it, Arteta said that he has yet to speak with Saka, but believes it was a stamp in a different area from the foot injury sustained in the north London derby.

The Gunners boss added that Gabriel Jesus was also limping after the game, he told Arsenal.com: “I don’t know yet I haven’t had a chance to speak to him, I think this one was a stamp, it wasn’t the same area, I don’t know and Gabi was limping after the game, let’s see how they are.”

Arsenal have had untimely injuries during the early part of the season. They are currently without Jurrien Timber for the long-term while Thomas Partey has been sidelined for weeks.

Gabriel Martinelli has been another notable absentee in recent games. The club can’t afford more setbacks if they want to challenge for the Premier League this campaign.

Saka has shown tremendous levels of recovery over the course of his Arsenal career. We won’t be surprised if he is fit in time for the midweek Champions League game at Lens.

Jesus is another vital player for the Gunners. The Brazilian required a knee surgery at the start of the season, and the club will be hoping that he only suffered a minor knock at Bournemouth.
