William Saliba stands out for Arsenal in late win vs Man City

Arsenal defender William Saliba delivered a sublime performance during the club’s 1-0 Premier League win over Manchester City on Sunday.

The Frenchman has been in excellent form throughout the campaign and he produced another superb showing versus the reigning champions.

Saliba completely controlled the proceedings against Erling Haaland and the Norwegian striker failed to muster any shot against the Gunners.

Over 90 minutes, the Frenchman won 100% of his ground and aerial duels and completed 99% of his passes. He lost possession just once.

Saliba was truly world-class against Man City

The centre-back had a fantastic debut season with the Gunners last term. He was pivotal to their tremendous league form for most of the campaign.

His back injury coincided with the club’s downfall during the final months. This season, Saliba has continued from where he left off with consistent displays.

Him and Gabriel Magalhaes have formed one of the best defences in the Premier League and the Gunners appear on course for another long title race.

The Gunners faithful will be hoping that Saliba can stay unscathed throughout the campaign as the club look to end their two decade wait for the English crown.

Arsenal are currently second in the league standings behind Tottenham Hotspur. They are equal on points with Spurs but the latter are top due to more goals scored.

The Gunners will visit Chelsea in their next game at Stamford Bridge after the international break. They have won their last three meetings against their London rivals.
