Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs West Ham, Ramsdale starts
|Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made six changes to the starting line-up for tonight’s Carabao Cup fourth round tie against West Ham United.
The Gunners are currently on a two-match winning run following their 5-0 Premier League rout of Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium.
They will be aiming to extend the streak against the Hammers to ensure their progress into the quarter-final stage of the Carabao Cup for the fourth time in six seasons.
Ahead of the game, Arteta has opted to make six changes to the XI. Aaron Ramsdale is back in goal for the first time since the third round tie against Brentford on the road.
In central defence, Gabriel Magalhaes has been reinstated into the starting line-up after being benched over the weekend. He has come in for William Saliba and will partner Jakub Kiwior.
Jorginho will start as the holding midfield today with Declan Rice on the bench. The other change in midfield sees Fabio Vieira getting the nod over Emile Smith Rowe.
Further forward, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have been handed breathers with Reiss Nelson and Leandro Trossard starting out wide. Eddie Nketiah leads the attack.
Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Kiwior, Magalhaes, Zinchenko; Jorginho, Havertz, Vieira; Nelson, Nketiah, Trossard.
Arteta was always expected to ring in the changes for the League Cup tie, but we are surprised with Martin Odegaard being left out of the XI for the second game running.
The manager recently said that the Norwegian is being handed a rest after his excursions for club and country. Hopefully, he will make an appearance following the interval.
