Predicted Arsenal line-up vs West Ham United, Odegaard starts
|
Arsenal travel to the London Stadium for tonight’s Carabao Cup fourth round tie against West Ham United.
The Gunners secured a convincing 5-0 win over Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
They were a few surprise changes to the starting lineup. The likes of Gabriel Magalhaes and Martin Odegaard were rested.
Mikel Arteta is likely to ring in the changes for the Carabao Cup tie tonight and the duo are expected to start against West Ham.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Aaron Ramsdale has played only game since David Raya became the regular in goal last month. That was in the League Cup third round and he is expected to reclaim his spot between the sticks tonight.
In defence, the manager may opt for two changes from the Sheffield rout. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel should come into the line-up with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior making way for the pair.
The manager went with Declan Rice in the number six role over the weekend with Kai Havertz and Emile Smith Rowe starting in the creative midfield positions. We anticipate the duo to drop to the bench.
Club captain Odegaard should be reinstated into the XI after being given a breather. Jorginho should also return to the line-up which would see Rice playing in central midfield against his former employers.
Further forward, Eddie Nketiah looks a shoe-in for the centre-forward position with Gabriel Jesus injured. The club graduate was in stunning form on Saturday with his maiden hat-trick at senior level.
We anticipate changes on either wing with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka starting on the bench with a view to the schedule ahead. Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson could get the nod in the wide positions.
