Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs Sevilla, Trossard starts

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made one change to the starting line-up for tonight’s Champions League group stage clash against Sevilla at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners suffered their first defeat of the Premier League campaign at Newcastle United on Saturday. The Magpies came on top after scoring a controversial goal.

Despite the result, Arteta was delighted with the effort from the team and we are not surprised that he has opted for the solitary change from the Tyneside trip.

That too is a forced one, considering Eddie Nketiah sustained a knock to his ankle against the Magpies.

In his place, Leandro Trossard has got the nod up front. The Belgian has excelled in the Champions League group stage. He has already scored two goals.

Here is Arsenal’s confirmed line-up (4-2-3-1): David Raya; Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu; Jorginho, Declan Rice; Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli; Leandro Trossard.

Havertz had another frustrating outing against the Magpies at St James’ Park. He was walking a tight rope with his discipline and barely made an impact in the final third.

With Martin Odegaard injured, we anticipated that Fabio Vieira may get the nod in the number 10 role, but the manager has continued to keep his faith on Havertz.

The German needs a big performance tonight to prove his credentials. The pressure is mounting on the 24-year-old. Hopefully, he will score or assist a goal against Sevilla.
