Arsenal should sign Andre after Thomas Partey injury blow
|Arsenal should consider an approach for Fluminense midfielder Andre following a thigh surgery for Thomas Partey.
Partey has been on the sidelines over the past few weeks and it has been reported today that he could be out until the New Year following an operation.
There is no exact return date for him and this could urge the Gunners to spend on a new holding midfielder when the transfer window reopens.
In our opinion, the Gunners should pursue a deal for Andre, having watched him closely over recent months. They scouted him in the Copa Libertadores final.
Andre would be a fantastic signing for Arsenal
Andre was heavily tipped to join Liverpool during the summer, but Fluminense were not keen to lose him midway through their league and continental campaign.
However, they are open to cashing in at the turn of the year. Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that he could be available for €35-40 million. We believe Arsenal should push for his signature.
The 22-year-old is currently one of the best defensive midfielders in South America. This season, he has completed 77 passes per league game with an accuracy of 95 per cent.
He has won an impressive two tackles and 5.5 duels per game, making 7.8 ball recoveries. Andre is not the tallest of midfielders at 176cm, but has won 50 per cent of his aerial challenges.
The Brazilian should only get better with age and experience. He would be a superb piece of investment for the Gunners and would allow them to phase out Partey in the near future.
The former Atletico Madrid man has been injury prone throughout his Gunners career and it was recently claimed that he has made his intention clear to leave the north London club.
