Gary Neville shares instant reaction as Arsenal secure 1-0 victory over Brentford

Arsenal left it late to secure a 1-0 victory over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, with Kai Havertz’s 89th-minute goal sealing all three points for the visitors.

Leandro Trossard thought he had put the North London club ahead in the 42nd minute, only for VAR to rule it out.

Arsenal continued to labour all game and finally cracked the code in the closing stages, with the Germany international grabbing his second goal since joining the club from Chelsea in the summer.

Gary Neville appears to have been impressed with how Mikel Arteta’s side fought for the win, and he took to social media platform X after the game to react and also answer a fan who claimed they would not win the Premier League title.

Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League table as a result of the win after Manchester City and Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw earlier in the day.

Arteta’s 200th game in charge of the Gunners could not have gone any better, and the Spaniard will hope his side can go one better this term after missing out on the title to Man City last term.

They return to action on Wednesday when RC Lens come visiting in the Champions League, with Wolverhampton Wanderers next on Saturday.

Luton Town, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are next in the league after then and Arsenal have a chance to consolidate their league position ahead of the second half of the campaign.

They are yet to hit top gear, but seeing them grind out the needed results is good to see, and they have to start putting games to bed as early as possible.

The Gunners will fancy their chances of clinching the title this term, and a win against Liverpool at Anfield on December 23rd will further boost their credentials and morale.
