Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta produces sublime piece of skill in training as he nutmegs Martin Odegaard ahead of RC Lens match

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta rolled back the years in training today during a drill with his players ahead of their Champions League game with RC Lens on Wednesday.

The Gunners need one more point to finish as Group B leaders heading into the last two games of the group stages, and they will be keen to win against the Ligue 1 side at Emirates Stadium tomorrow having lost to them in France earlier last month.

Arteta joined the Arsenal players in preparation for the fixture in a game of rondo, and he embarrassed captain Martin Odegaard with a sublime piece of skill.

The Spaniard nutmegged his skipper effortlessly to the delight of those watching, and he followed it with a brilliant celebration.

Arteta is just 41 and clearly could still do a good job in the middle of the park for Arsenal, but fans are unlikely to see him pull on the boots anytime soon.

He was an excellent midfielder in his playing days and has not lost his abilities on the ball as Odegaard found out.

Becoming a manager has gone smoothly for the former midfielder, and he became the Arsenal boss to win the most games in his first 200 matches in charge of the club following the 1-0 victory against Brentford at the weekend.

Arteta will now hope to add major silverware to his C.V having already bagged the FA Cup and Community Shield with the Gunners since becoming manager in December 2019.

Arsenal are on the right track this season after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City last term.

They are currently top of the table in the Premier League and Champions League, and they will fancy their chances of winning both competitions.

The North Londoners have improved significantly at the back this term but have struggled for fluidity in attack and will need to start firing on all cylinders to boost their chances of winning the title.
