Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs Lens, Havertz starts

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made two changes to the starting line-up for tonight’s Champions League group stage clash against Lens.

The Gunners are on nine points after four group games and require just one point to book their round of 16 place with the top spot, as things stand.

Their last 16 qualification could be sealed before kick-off if Sevilla hold onto their lead against PSV.

Ahead of tonight’s game, Arteta has made two changes to the XI from the 1-0 win at Brentford.

David Raya has been reinstated in goal. He was replaced by Aaron Ramsdale in the recent London derby as he was ineligible to face his parent club.

Elsewhere, Kai Havertz has come into the XI for Leandro Trossard. The German made the difference on Saturday with the winning goal off the bench.

The 24-year-old is likely to line up in central midfield alongside Declan Rice with Martin Odegaard playing higher up in his preferred number 10 position.

Here is Arsenal’s confirmed starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Raya; Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Rice, Havertz; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Jesus.

The Gunners started the campaign as clear favourites to progress from their group. They look set to do so before playing tonight with Sevilla winning 2-0 against PSV at home.

Arteta will be hoping to secure the first position with a game to spare. Lens beat the Gunners 2-1 on the road earlier this term. The club have the perfect chance to avenge the result.
