Predicted Arsenal line-up vs PSV, 7 changes

Arsenal face PSV Eindhoven on the road in their final Champions League group stage game.

The Gunners have already booked their spot in the round of 16 of the competition with the top spot and manager Mikel Arteta has the opportunity to ring in the changes with a congested schedule ahead.

Arteta may not change the entire line-up from the Aston Villa defeat but we could see more than half of the team rested. Gabriel Martinelli looks unlikely to feature after missing training through illness.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Aaron Ramsdale deserves his maiden Champions League start of the campaign with nothing at stake in the game other than prestige. The Englishman played a huge part in the club’s return to the competition and should start ahead of David Raya in goal this evening.

In defence, Arteta may opt for a couple of changes from the weekend defeat. William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko could be given a breather. Jakub Kiwior is the natural replacement for Zinchenko in the left-back role with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurrien Timber injured.

Ben White looks likely to partner Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence. We anticipate Reuell Walters to make his competitive debut for the Gunners from the right-back position. The teenager has been in the matchday squads lately and could finally make a senior appearance.

Jorginho should replace Declan Rice in the number six position in Rotterdam. Alongside him, we would personally prefer Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz to continue in midfield. Odegaard missed two clear-cut chances at Villa Park and will want to make amends today.

Havertz is a confidence player in our opinion and Arteta may want to keep him playing to get the best out of him. The German created both chances for Odegaard at the weekend. He has three goals since November and nearly found a late equaliser against Villa.

Further forward, we anticipate Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus to be rested along with Martinelli, who is will. Reiss Nelson should start on the right with Leandro Trossard on the left flank. Eddie Nketiah is the obvious replacement for Jesus in the number nine role.

Academy duo Lino Sousa and Ethan Nwaneri have also travelled with the squad and they could be introduced around the hour mark. We are eagerly anticipating a Champions League debut for Nwaneri, who netted a sensational five goals in the FA Youth Cup recently.
