Predicted Arsenal line-up vs Brighton, 8 changes
|Arsenal will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League this afternoon.
The Gunners suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at Aston Villa last weekend which saw them surrender their top spot in the table to Liverpool.
The club are currently one point behind Jurgen Klopp’s side and have the chance to temporarily regain the position by beating the Seagulls.
Liverpool have a testing challenge against Manchester United at home in the late kick-off. There is a possibility that they could drop points.
Ahead of today’s game, manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel Martinelli is back in contention after overcoming a minor illness.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Aaron Ramsdale was handed his Champions League debut in midweek against PSV. It was a game where there was nothing at stake for both teams. David Raya is expected to reclaim the gloves from the England international.
In defence, there should be two changes from the Eindhoven trip. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are nailed-on starters in central defence, but Cedric Soares and Jakub Kiwior look set to make way for Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko in the right and left-back positions respectively.
Declan Rice is currently the undisputed defensive midfielder for the Gunners and he should take up the spot of Jorginho. Mohamed Elneny suffered a hamstring injury in midweek, but this is unlikely to hamper the club. He has been a regular unused substitute in the ongoing season.
Martin Odegaard should be reinstated into the starting XI alongside Rice and Kai Havertz in a three-man midfield. The captain missed two big chances to find the back of the net at Villa Park and he will be aiming to make amends this afternoon.
Further forward, Bukayo Saka and Martinelli are automatic starters on the right and left wing respectively when fit with Gabriel Jesus leading the line again. Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah are expected to return to the bench.
