Arsenal attacker Reiss Nelson attracting loan interest from Sevilla and Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sevilla are interested in signing Arsenal attacker Reiss Nelson on loan during the January transfer window, according to CBS Sports.

However, the 24-year-old is minded to stay and fight for his place this season. Nelson is yet to start a Premier League for Arsenal this term, with all his eight appearances in the competition coming off the bench.

He has played just 89 minutes of football in the league, with seven appearances to his name across the Champions League and Carabao Cup, where he has weighed in with a goal and two assists.

Nelson came off the bench for the final 26 minutes in the 2-0 loss to West Ham United last night, but he was unable to inspire a comeback as Arsenal fell to their third league defeat of 2023-24.

Wolves and Sevilla would love to have the services of the Hale End graduate for the second half of the campaign and are likely to offer him regular playing chances.

However, Nelson knows the Gunners can win the Premier League title this term and is keen to stay on until the summer before making any decisions on his future.

He is yet to score or assist a league goal this term, but manager Mikel Arteta knows how valuable he can be on his day.

Nelson came off the bench to bag the winner in the 3-2 thriller against Bournemouth in March after the Gunners had found themselves 2-0 down in the opening minutes of the game.

He is capable of reproducing similar last-gasp wonderstrikes going forward, and Arsenal would prefer to hold on to him as they need quality depth in attack.

With Gabriel Martinelli struggling in front of goal recently, Arteta could be willing to give Nelson a chance in the starting XI, and it is clear to see why the Englishman is willing to stay and fight for his place.
