Ian Wright reacts to Arsenal defeat against Fulham on social media

Ian Wright has taken to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to react after Arsenal suffered a 2-1 loss to Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The Gunners were looking to bounce back from the midweek loss to West Ham United and appeared to be on track after Bukayo Saka bagged the opener four minutes into the game.

However, Fulham drew level some minutes later before taking the lead in the second half, and Arsenal were toothless in attack, failing to register a shot on target when play resumed.

Wright was left concerned with what he saw as the Gunners’ lack of a plan B was brutally exposed, and the Arsenal legend took to X to send this message to manager Mikel Arteta.

They failed to complete a pass into the penalty area between the 67th minute and the 95th minute of the game, and the performance was arguably their worst of the campaign so far.

Despite attempting 13 shots, only three of them found the target, and both Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus were deprived of valuable service in front of goal.

Arsenal need to bolster their squad next month if they are serious about challenging for the Premier League title, and landing a quality finisher could go a long way.

They have failed to win in three successive Premier League matches for the first time this season, picking up just one point over the last eight days, and they could find themselves five points behind leaders Liverpool should the Reds beat Newcastle United tomorrow.

There is a 13-day break between their next two games, and the players could also do with much-needed rest given how busy the schedule has been so far.

Arsenal need quality squad depth to keep up their title aspirations during the second-half of the campaign, and it will be interesting to see how they fare over the next 18 league games.
