Arsenal ready to sell Eddie Nketiah for £30million, will include sell-on clause as part of any transfer

Arsenal are asking suitors for £30 million to sell England international striker Eddie Nketiah during the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

The Gunners want to bolster their attacking ranks ahead of the second half of 2023-24, with Brentford hitman Ivan Toney and his Bournemouth counterpart Dominic Solanke both on their radar.

If Arsenal can get a deal done for either forward, Nketiah will be allowed to leave the North London club so that they can balance the books.

Crystal Palace want to recruit the services of the Hale End academy graduate, and more clubs could emerge for his signature once the Gunners make it clear that he is on the market.

However, Arsenal want a sell-on clause included as part of any transfer that would take Nketiah away from Emirates Stadium.

Some of the decision-makers at the club believe that he is still very much capable of turning into an elite number 9, and they want to be rewarded with a windfall should he move to another club afterwards.

Only Bukayo Saka (6) has scored more Premier League goals than Nketiah (5) at Arsenal this term, but it cannot be denied that Toney is an upgrade on him.

The Bees star bagged 20 league goals last term and netted a hat-trick for Brentford B in a friendly this weekend as he prepares to finally return to action later this month after his ban.

Solanke has 12 league goals so far this season in 19 Premier League appearances and would help improve the Arsenal attack instantly if snapped up.

However, whether the Cherries or Brentford are willing to do business for some of their most important players this month given their current league standings remains to be seen, and the Gunners may have to settle for the services of Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus until the summer.
