Arsenal have strong interest in signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Arsenal have a strong interest in signing Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic ahead of Juventus, according to TuttoJuve.

The 28-year-old has been long linked with a move to the Premier League, and there is now surprise speculation that he could leave Al-Hilal.

It is reported that Juventus are exploring a deal for the talented playmaker, but Arsenal also have a strong interest and could make a better offer for his services.

It is not specified whether the Gunners will make a move this winter, but TuttoJuve highlight that Al-Hilal paid €40 million to sign him from Lazio last summer.

Milinkovic-Savic would add more creativity in Arsenal’s midfield

The Gunners purchased Kai Havertz from Chelsea to replace Granit Xhaka last summer, but the German has managed only five goal contributions.

The 24-year-old has been picked to play in the central midfield position. He has been guilty of squandering a number of big chances to score.

Bringing in Milinkovic-Savic would be a good decision for the Gunners. He is vastly experienced and has the ability to make contributions in the final third.

The former Lazio man also has a strong physical presence and likes to engage in tackles and duels.

He has 14 goal involvements in just 22 games for Al-Hilal this term. In the last campaign, he contributed 11 goals and eight assists from 47 outings for Lazio.

The big question is whether Arsenal can afford to sign him. With Financial Fair Play issues, they are more likely to propose a loan deal with an option to buy.

Milinkovic-Savic also needs have to accept a huge pay-cut as Arsenal are unlikely to match his current weekly wages of £411,000 in the Saudi Pro League.
