Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs Liverpool, Jesus injured
|Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made two changes to the starting line-up for the Premier League clash against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have won back-to-back games in the top-flight and they will be eyeing another victory to reduce the five-point deficit to leaders Liverpool.
Ahead of kick-off, Arteta has opted for two changes to the XI. Emile Smith Rowe has dropped to the bench. He has been replaced by Jorginho in midfield.
The Italian provided good control alongside Declan Rice in the recent FA Cup third round tie versus the Reds. The manager could be looking to replicate the same.
Elsewhere, Gabriel Jesus has been left out of the matchday squad altogether, having picked up a fresh injury. Kai Havertz will lead the line against the Reds.
Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Liverpool: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Havertz.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have made three changes from the midweek win over Chelsea. Darwin Nunez is only on the bench. He had a big swelling on his foot after the game.
Cody Gakpo has replaced him in the starting XI. Meanwhile, Dominik Szoboszlai has not made the matchday squad for the Reds, having picked up an injury in training.
The Merseyside outfit are also without Mohamed Salah due to a hamstring injury sustained last month while Conor Bradley has not made the trip due to the sad passing of his dad.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ryan Gravenberch have replaced Bradley and Szoboszlai respectively.
Arsenal fans will be hoping that the players can capitalise on their absence at the Emirates.
The visitors can’t be taken lightly with Diogo Jota being a nemesis for the Gunners. He has eight goals from 14 meetings and Arsenal must nullify his threat to come on top.
