Garth Crooks picks two Arsenal stars in his Team of the Week

BBC football pundit Garth Crooks has picked two Arsenal stars in his Team of the Week following the 5-0 Premier League rout of Burnley on the road.

The Gunners continued their fine start to the year with a fifth successive league win. They comfortably beat the Clarets at Turf Moor by five clear goals.

Martin Odegaard started the scoring with a fine low strike from the edge of the box in the fourth minute. He went on to provide an assist for Bukayo Saka.

The Norwegian has been in fantastic form over recent weeks and he was our man of the match.

We are not surprised that Crooks picked him in his Team of the Week. The pundit said that the Gunners captain generally ‘ran the show’ against the Clarets.

Meanwhile, Saka also made Crooks’ XI after bagging yet another brace away from home.

The England star converted his penalty in the opening half before unleashing a powerful right footed strike into the roof of Burnley’s net after the break.

For the second game running, Saka was denied his maiden league hat-trick with a substitution, but he could achieve the feat this term with his stellar form.

Saka had a lean phase before the New Year, but he has redeemed himself. The club graduate has now registered 28 goal contributions from just 32 outings this season.

Both him and Odegaard will be aiming to continue the good form when the Gunners travel to Porto for the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tomorrow.

Arsenal have not won in their last three trips to the Estadio do Dragao (one draw and two defeats). The club’s faithful will be anticipating a solid victory to end the streak.
