Mika Biereth continues stellar form at Sturm Graz with goal & assist

Arsenal striker Mika Biereth continued his fine form for Sturm Graz with a goal and an assist against Wolfsberg on Sunday afternoon.

The Danish ace spent the first half of the campaign with Motherwell in Scotland. He registered six goals and five assists from 15 outings before he was recalled by the Gunners.

The club wanted him to pursue a bigger challenge in Austria with Sturm Graz. The 21-year-old has already made a big impression with five goals and one assist in seven outings.

Biereth recently scored the opening goal against Wolfsberg in the 66th minute with a cushioned header. Just four minutes later, he turned provider with an assist for Manprit Sakaria.

He won 100 per cent of his ground duels in the game, creating two chances.

Arsenal have big decision to make over Biereth

The youngster currently has a contract with the Gunners until June 2025. The hierarchy could make a final decision on Biereth depending on how he progresses in the present season.

He is still far off with his distribution and ability to win aerial duels. If he continues to fire in the goals, the Gunners could be tempted to loan him out to a bigger league after extending his stay.

Sturm Graz’s sporting director has already revealed that they wanted to sign him permanently. Arsenal could accept the proposal in the summer if a significant sell-on clause is included.

Biereth’s fifth goal for Sturm Graz sees them within two points off leaders Red Bull Salzburg.

Salzburg have won the Austrian Bundesliga title in each of the last 10 campaigns. Biereth has the opportunity to break the monopoly by guiding his team to the crown.
