Arsenal are one of the Premier League clubs keeping tabs on FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Mario Dorgeles ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.
The 19-year-old has been impressing in the Danish Superliga club, with one of his coaches, Chelsea legend Michael Essien, tipping him for greatness.
Newcastle United, Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, AS Monaco, Lille, Lyon and Marseille are also interested in recruiting the services of Dorgeles, while soon-to-be Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth also admires him.
The Ivory Coast under-23 international has been widely tipped to leave Nordsjaelland in the summer, and emerging as Premier League champions could boost the chances of Arsenal in the race.
The Gunners will be playing in the Champions League next season from the look of things, and the 19-year-old could prefer joining them ahead of other suitors as a result.
The likes of Mohammed Kudus, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Simon Adingra and his Brighton-bound team-mate Ibrahim Osman all passed through Nordsjaelland, and Dorgeles could be next in line.
Arsenal need more legs in midfield next term if they are to successfully challenge across all four competitions, and the 5ft 10in teenage sensation fits the bill.
He plays a similar style of football with a young Essien, with strength and his technicality two major qualities and traits that distinguish him from others.
Dorgeles has already featured in 43 first-team games for Nordsjaelland and will fancy his chances of hitting the ground running in the Premier League.
The club has produced some top players who have gone on to impress in the English top-flight, and it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal can pip fierce competition to the services of the Ivorian whizz-kid.
