Arsenal among PL clubs most interested in signing Adrien Rabiot

Arsenal and Newcastle United are among the most interested clubs in signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Frenchman has been long linked with a move to the Premier League and the speculation has intensified with his contract expiring at the end of June.

Rabiot was convinced to sign a fresh one-year deal at the Bianconeri last summer, but he appears reluctant to do so again without a possible pay-rise.

This could pave the way for a free transfer. TMW mention that the Gunners and Magpies are among Premier League clubs who are most interested in him.

It is suggested that the English duo could face competition from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Rabiot to Arsenal speculation could be agent-driven

The Rabiot to Arsenal speculation does not surprise us anymore. He has been linked with the club since his time at Paris Saint-Germain. A deal has never materialised.

Once again, there is talk of the Gunners making an approach. Rabiot could be available on a free, but we don’t expect the hierarchy to make a contract offer to him.

The Frenchman is strong with his defensive attributes such as his tackling, ability to make recoveries and aerial duels. However, passing is not his strongest suit.

He has a pass success rate of only 85 per cent and has lost possession almost 10 times per game.

Rabiot will be 29 next month. The World Cup finalist is unlikely to make any improvement going forward despite him stating that he is at the ‘peak of his career‘.

Hence, we don’t see a deal happening. The north London giants could focus on signing a younger midfielder this summer based on the manager’s need.
