Arsenal facing backlog of games after latest fixture reschedule which could have huge say on title race

The Premier League is facing a backlash over their latest fixture reschedule, with Arsenal likely to be unhappy as they face a backlog of games, according to the Daily Mirror.
Some of the clubs in the English top-flight are already questioning the “integrity” of the new fixture list and the role the rescheduling might play in the title race.
There are only ten league games left, but Arsenal have plenty on their hands given their involvement in the Champions League, and while their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur have a 15-day rest before the North London derby on April 28, the Gunners face Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, Wolverhampton Wanderers and play their rearranged fixture with Chelsea within the same timeframe.
The Gunners’ title challengers Manchester City have had their league game with Spurs on April 20 postponed because of their FA Cup semi-final with clash Chelsea that weekend.
However, rather than reschedule the postponed game for the following midweek, Man City will play Brighton & Hove Albion instead on April 25, which leaves the reigning champions potentially facing an easier game against the Seagulls earlier on rather than another trip to the Spurs home ground – a place which had been a bogey ground for them until their FA Cup win in January.
The rearranged schedule will surely have a huge say on the title race, but there is nothing league leaders Arsenal can do about it.
Liverpool are also facing a similar fixture nightmare and Man City could also face a similar issue as their trip to Tottenham is yet to be rescheduled.
The title-pursuing trio are all still playing in Europe, and their progress in the competitions could still see more fixture changes depending on how far they go.
Arsenal are desperate to retain their position at the top of the table until the very final whistle of the season as they look to win their first title since 2004, and manager Mikel Arteta will hope everything will work in their favour in the final lap.
