Manchester City trio Kyle Walker, John Stones and Matheus Nunes all doubtful for Arsenal game

Manchester City could be without Kyle Walker, John Stones and Matheus Nunes for their Premier League game against Arsenal on Sunday, according to Sky Sports.

The England right-back is having a scan on the hamstring problem he picked up against Brazil on Saturday, while Stones and Nunes are also being assessed after picking up knocks while on duty for England and Portugal, respectively.

Arsenal visit Etihad Stadium to face Man City in the top-of-the-table clash and potential title decider, and they will fancy their chances if Pep Guardiola is forced to field a weakened starting XI.

Switzerland international centre-back Manuel Akanji is also a doubt having reportedly sustained a knock earlier this week, and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta will hope his own men are all available for selection for such an important match.

Being without three of his most important defenders against Arsenal will be a huge blow for Guardiola, and the North Londoners will smell blood if that turns out to be the case.

The Gunners are top of the Premier League table after 28 games and a win at Etihad will hand them a massive morale boost ahead of the remaining nine games of the campaign.

There are unconfirmed reports flying around on social media that Arsenal also have injury concerns of their own ahead of the match, but nothing has been confirmed officially and Arteta will provide an update during his press conference on Friday.

Having already defeated Man City twice this term, the Gunners will be feeling pretty confident heading into the match and are one of the teams that can defeat the reigning champions given their impressive form of recent.
