Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs Man City, Gabriel starts

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has named his starting line-up for today’s Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Gunners were in fantastic form before the international break with eight straight league wins, but they face a huge challenge against City.

The club have won in just one of the previous 15 trips to the Etihad and today’s game presents a big test of their title credentials for the season.

Ahead of the crunch encounter, Arteta has made a solitary change from the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie against Porto.

Gabriel Jesus has got the nod ahead of Leandro Trossard on the left wing. This is something we had predicted, given the former’s familiarity with the opposition.

The rest of the team stays the same from the Porto victory. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhaes have recovered from their respective injuries to make the line-up.

Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Man City: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior; Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Jesus; Havertz.

Meanwhile, there is further good news on the bench with Gabriel Martinelli having recovered from a cut on his left leg to make the matchday squad against City.

Arsenal have beaten City in just one of the previous 13 league meetings. That was in the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium where Martinelli scored a late winner off the bench.

The fans will be hoping for a repeat of the same performance, but it won’t be easy against a City side, who have not lost at the Etihad in 37 games across all competitions.
