Ian Wright shares instant reaction after goalless draw between Arsenal and Manchester City at Etihad Stadium

Arsenal and Manchester City played out a goalless draw at Etihad Stadium this evening in their top-of-the-table clash, with both sides missing some decent chances to secure all three points.

The North Londoners put up a resolute defence against the reigning champions, with France international centre-back William Saliba constantly nullifying the threat of Norway international striker Erling Braut Haaland.

While Arsenal will rue their lack of prowess in front of goal, they can take solace in the fact that they ended Man City’s run of scoring in 57 consecutive matches at home.

The Gunners have the best defence in the land and will hope they can do enough during the course of the remaining nine Premier League games to win the title.

Ian Wright was pleased with the performance he saw from Arsenal despite the drab draw, praising their growth over the last 12 months after taking to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to react to the result.

They host Luton Town on Wednesday and will be desperate to return to winning ways after losing top spot to Liverpool as a result of the draw.

The Reds are top of the Premier League table, with two points between them and Arsenal, and the three-horse title race is set to get more exhilarating in the coming weeks.

The Gunners have the toughest fixtures amongst the trio as they will face Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United away from home and will host Chelsea, but they will be pretty confident of getting the job done given their recent impressive run.

Meanwhile, Man City face Aston Villa on Wednesday and also have to travel to Tottenham Hotspur. while Liverpool will play Man United and Spurs, so nothing is guaranteed yet as the other title challengers also have tough hurdles to scale in the coming weeks.
