Predicted Arsenal line-up vs Luton Town, three changes
|Arsenal will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host Luton Town at the Emirates Stadium this evening.
The Gunners played out an impressive goalless draw against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. However, the result saw Liverpool leapfrog them to the top of the standings with a two-point lead.
Arsenal have the chance to temporarily reclaim the spot with a victory over Luton. We anticipate at least three changes from the manager. Here is how the Gunners could line up against Rob Edwards’ side.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
David Raya is leading the race for the Golden Glove with 10 clean sheets, two ahead of Fulham’s Bernd Leno. He is expected to continue between the sticks ahead of Aaron Ramsdale.
In front of him, we anticipate at least one change to the backline. Jakub Kiwior could be given a breather, having played 120 minutes for Poland before starting against City on the road.
We anticipate Oleksandr Zinchenko to get the nod in the left-back role. Ben White should keep his place at right-back, though he could be replaced by the hour mark with Takehiro Tomiyasu.
William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes should continue as the central defensive pairing as usual.
In midfield, Jorginho is likely to be rested on the back of a tough test at the Etihad Stadium. Thomas Partey could make his first start of the year alongside Declan Rice in the centre of the park.
Further forward, Martin Odegaard is a nailed-on starter from the number 10 position. Arteta dismissed any injury concerns for Bukayo Saka and he is expected to start from the right wing once more.
As part of rotation, we won’t be surprised to see Leandro Trossard start ahead of Gabriel Jesus on the left wing. Gabriel Martinelli could be eased into action after his recovery from a leg injury.
Kai Havertz looks set to lead the attack once more. The Germany international has been in fine form in the Premier League with four goals from his previous five appearances.
