Arsenal watching Evanilson closely ahead of possible summer move

Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Porto striker Evanilson ahead of a potential approach to sign him this summer, according to Record.

The Gunners are likely to invest on a new striker ahead of next season and they have been linked with numerous names including Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres.

Record (page 16) now claim that Evanilson is on the club’s radar. Arsenal have ‘more recently’ had scouts in attendance to watch Porto games.

The Brazilian, who has registered 22 goals and six assists this season, seems the focus. The Gunners could have ‘possible interest’ in signing him.

Just like Gyokeres, Evanilson currently has a €100 million release clause in his contract.

Arsenal should prioritise Gyokeres deal this summer

Evanilson has had a good campaign with Porto, but the Brazilian remains injury-prone.

The 24-year-old was sidelined for seven games at the start of the campaign with ankle and muscular issues. Last season, he missed almost 15 matches with four separate concerns.

Keeping this in mind, we would prefer the club to focus on Gyokeres instead. When compared to Evanilson, the Swede has surprisingly been injury-free throughout his career.

Other than this, the 25-year-old has obviously had a better season with 51 goal contributions for Sporting Lisbon. He has made only six less appearances than Evanilson in all competitions.

Gyokeres is also much better with the ball at his feet and creates more chances. He has been won more duels than Evanilson per game, completing four times more dribbles.

In our view, the Gunners should prioritise a deal for Gyokeres this summer.
