Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs Bayern Munich

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made three changes to the starting line-up for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich tonight.

The Gunners recently suffered their first Premier League defeat of the year. They were convincingly beaten by a 2-0 scoreline by Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta will be eyeing a strong response at the Allianz Arena after the setback. The first leg ended all square in a 2-2 draw and the players face a huge challenge in Munich.

Ahead of the game, the manager has opted for three changes from the weekend loss.

In defence, Takehiro Tomiyasu has got the nod in the starting line-up ahead of Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back. The latter’s poor positioning led to Villa’s opening goal on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus also make way from the XI. Kai Havertz is set to lead the attack tonight with Jorginho coming back into midfield alongside Declan Rice.

On the left wing, Gabriel Martinelli starts ahead of Trossard, who has fared better as an impact player. The Belgian scored a crucial equaliser in the first leg, but barely impressed on Sunday.

Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Bayern Munich: Raya; White, Saliba, Magalhaes, Tomiyasu; Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Havertz.

Arsenal have had a dismal record at the Allianz Arena over the years. They have been on the winning side in just one of the previous six meetings at the stadium.

They previously won in 2013 by a 2-0 scoreline. It was not enough to progress to the Champions League quarter-final as Bayern qualified on the away goal rule.

The Gunners face another difficult test tonight and it is left to be seen whether they can produce a good performance with a win on the back of the Villa defeat.
