Rio Ferdinand suggests Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala is better than his Arsenal counterpart Martin Odegaard

Bayern Munich host Arsenal in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at Allianz Arena tonight, and both teams will be desperate to come out tops having played out a 2-2 draw at Emirates Stadium last week.

The two clubs could not be separated last week and it could be a tight affair between them later today given the quality they both boast of.

Bayern and Arsenal have stars capable of singlehandedly influencing the result of the game tonight, and Rio Ferdinand has picked his combined XI consisting of players from both sides ahead of the clash.

The former Manchester United star has raised eyebrows by picking Jamal Musiala ahead of Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, suggesting the 21-year-old is better than the Norwegian midfielder.

Musiala is a top player and one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga without a doubt, but he is not better than the Gunners skipper and has never been.

The Germany international has been involved in more goals than Odegaard this term, but he has not been as influential as the Arsenal star has been to his side.

The Norwegian makes the North Londoners tick in the middle of the park and is their creator-in-chief given what he brings to play in the final third.

Arsenal largely depend on his creativity to get going, and while they are not overly reliant on his services, they simply cannot do without them.

Musiala is also a key player for his side, but he is not their most important player and is unlikely to determine the outcome of the game tonight.

Odegaard could, and Ferdinand picking the Bayern star ahead of him in his combined starting XI shows how underrated the Arsenal star is.
