Predicted Arsenal line-up vs Chelsea, Jorginho returns

Arsenal take on London rivals Chelsea in tonight’s Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners returned to winning ways last weekend with a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring just before the break. Arsenal had to wait until the 95th minute for the second goal. Martin Odegaard managed to beat goalkeeper Jose Sa from a tight angle.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be back in action at home tonight. There could be a few tactical changes.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

David Raya kept his sixth consecutive league clean sheet on the road on Saturday night. He made a fantastic save to deny Joao Gomes at 0-0.

The Spaniard is currently on 13 clean sheets in the top-flight campaign, three ahead of Everton’s Jordan Pickford in the Golden Glove race. He will continue in goal.

In front of him, Ben White is a nailed-on starter from the right-back position.

He was fantastic with his distribution against Wolves. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are also guaranteed starters at the heart of the defence.

However, there could be a change at left-back. Jakub Kiwior had a mixed opening half at Wolves where he was dispossessed on a few occasions. Raya saved his blushes with a strong save.

Oleksandr Zinchenko could be brought back into the starting XI as Arteta may want to try and dominate the proceedings with the defender’s creativity.

The manager went with Declan Rice and Kai Havertz in midfield at the Molineux, but the latter could move into the centre-forward role against his former club.

Jorginho, who also moved from the Blues last year, could be reinstated in the number six role position with Rice operating from the central midfield role.

Rice was brilliant with his lung-bursting runs in the final 15 minutes at Wolves. He created five chances in the game and was named the man of the match.

Thomas Partey fared well in his cameo appearance at the weekend, but may not start on the back of limited playing time since his return from injury.

Further forward, Bukayo Saka remains the club’s best solution on the right wing despite him struggling with his form and fitness in the last few outings.

Trossard should continue on the left wing on the back of another crucial goal.

Gabriel Jesus provided the assist for the Belgian, but he was largely ineffective other than that. The €70 million-rated star struggled to test the goalkeeper.

He could be dropped with Havertz getting the nod up front once more.

Odegaard is expected to lead the side as usual from the number 10 position. His movement and creativity will be key to securing another derby win.
