Bukayo Saka is not too keen on getting referred to as Starboy by Arsenal on social media

Arsenal attacking midfielder Bukayo Saka is not too keen on getting referred to as ‘Starboy’ on social media, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners social media team constantly referred to the England international as ‘Starboy’, but the nickname has now been banned and fans will not be seeing it anytime soon on any of the club’s accounts.

No one knows exactly why Saka is not keen on the name, but it is a nickname one of his favourite musicians (Nigerian pop star Wizkid) also bears and one would think the Arsenal star would love to share it with him.

Gunners supporters have continued to call him ‘Starboy’ in the comment section of his social media accounts (Instagram and X – formerly known as Twitter), and it does not appear it will be ending anytime soon.

Saka has lived up to the hype this term after the impressive campaign he had last season when he bagged 15 goals and 11 assists in 48 games.

The Arsenal academy graduate has 18 goals and 14 assists in 44 appearances so far in 2023-24 and will be desperate to help lead his side to Premier League glory.

Saka was a few months away from his 3rd birthday the last time the North London club won the English top-flight title and he will hope to end their woeful run this term.

Arsenal currently lead the way at the top of the Premier League table by three points having played a game more than second-placed Liverpool, and they will need to win their remaining four games and pray both the Reds and Manchester City drop points for their dreams to come true.

They are back in action on Sunday when they visit Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to face their bitter North London rivals, and ‘Starboy’ and his teammates will be eager to prove their title credentials all over again.
