Arsenal ready to sell Gabriel Jesus at the right price
|Arsenal are prepared to part ways with Gabriel Jesus for the right price this summer, according to The Athletic.
The Brazil international has had a difficult second season at the club. He has averaged 57 minutes per game in his 33 appearances in all competitions.
The 27-year-old has missed 13 games with multiple injuries and he is currently behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order for the number nine position.
It is now reported that Arsenal are open to selling Jesus for the right price. He is no longer considered as an indispensable figure in the current squad.
Jesus has been nursing a nagging knee issue since his setback at the 2022 World Cup. It is claimed that he may undergo another minor procedure this summer.
Arsenal could offload Nketiah and Jesus
The Gunners started the season with Nketiah and Jesus as their preferred strikers, but both of them have fallen down the pecking order in recent months.
Nketiah has not started a league game since New Year’s Eve against Fulham while Jesus has been in-and-out of the starting line-up since the turn of the year.
Havertz has capitalised on this to become the main man up front. He has a shot conversion rate of 21 per cent in the league this term – three times more than Jesus.
Hence, we won’t be surprised if Jesus heads for the exit door. He is valued at €70 million by Transfermarkt but could be sold for less amid his limited minutes.
Jesus, who netted four goals in the Champions League campaign, remains a top quality player, but it appears Arsenal have outgrown him this season.
