Kai Havertz praises Bukayo Saka after ‘unbelievable’ performance vs Bournemouth

Arsenal playmaker Kai Havertz was full of praise for Bukayo Saka following the 3-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners picked up a fourth straight league win by beating the Cherries at the Emirates Stadium.

Saka opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 45th minute of the game. Havertz won the spot-kick in what was a frustrating first half for Arsenal.

Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice scored in the second half to secure a convincing 3-0 win in the end, but the result could have been different on another day.

At 2-0, the Cherries were denied a goal after a rather soft foul on goalkeeper David Raya by Dominic Solanke. The visitors were hard done by the referee.

Speaking after the win, Havertz was particularly pleased with Saka’s display. He said that the club graduate is ‘unbelievable’ and he has never seen a player like this.

The 24-year-old added that England are very lucky to have him in their ranks as he is special.

He told Sky Sports: “He’s unbelievable and shows it every week.”

“I think he’s 21 or 22 and I’ve never seen a player like this.

“England are very lucky. He’s hungry every day and if you see him in training he’s special.”

Saka scored only one goal from the penalty spot against the Cherries, but should have had more.

He had seven attempts on goal against the South Coast outfit with four of those blocked by defenders.

The 22-year-old also missed a big scoring opportunity after a terrific pass from Havertz.

Saka rushed with his effort on target when he had time and space to find the back of the net.

It was still a solid performance from the winger. He had 58 touches with a pass accuracy of 91 per cent.

The Englishman created five chances in 86 minutes and looked fired up for the challenge.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that he can continue his current form over the next two fixtures.

The Gunners are presently top of the table with a one-point lead over Manchester City.

The Cityzens have a game in hand. The London giants can’t control their own destiny, but need to win their final two games of the top-flight campaign and hope that City slip-up somewhere.
