Kai Havertz continues fine form in victory over Man Utd

Arsenal playmaker Kai Havertz continued his fine form during the 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

The German started his debut campaign in a slow fashion, but his form has been exceptional since mid-February with regular goal contributions.

He has registered eight goals and six assists over the last 13 league outings. One of those contributions came against United at Old Trafford.

Havertz was well aware of Casemiro’s poor positioning and he managed to capitalise on the situation.

The 24-year-old got to the byline on the right flank before delivering a pass with his weaker left foot. Leandro Trossard timed his run to perfection for a tap-in.

It was a huge moment for the Gunners, given they eventually won the game by a 1-0 scoreline.

Aside from his assist, Havertz won an impressive eight ground and aerial duels with three ball recoveries. He also registered two successful tackles.

The €60 million-rated star was not at his best with his distribution, but he worked hard for the team defensively to preserve the slender lead.

Havertz has had a tremendous transformation after a mixed start to the season and he has certainly been the club’s best player over recent months.

Whether his form translates into a league title remains to be seen. Arsenal are back at the top of the table with 86 points, but Manchester City are favourites.

Pep Guardiola’s side, who are one point behind, play their game in hand against Tottenham Hotspur on the road on Tuesday. It could be a title decider.
