Rival suitors believe Arsenal are now in pole position to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko

Rival suitors believe Arsenal are now in pole position to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko should they choose to formalise their interest, according to the Telegraph.

The North Londoners have a strong interest in the 20-year-old and are considering a move for him ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, they face competition for Sesko, with Manchester United, Chelsea and AC Milan also keen on recruiting the services of the Slovenia international.

It appears Arsenal have moved ahead of their rivals in the race for his signature, but they may need to part with top dollar for him as his release clause could rise as high as £64 million as a result of his excellent performances this season.

Sesko has bagged 17 goals across all competitions for Leipzig and did notch three goals for his country during their UEFA Nations League B campaign.

The former RB Salzburg star has found the back of the net in each of his past six matches, and it appears that form has caught the eyes of Arsenal all over again.

The Gunners want to land a new striker in the summer and they are ready to sell Gabriel Jesus and other fringe players to make funds available to that effect.

Sesko wants to play in the Premier League, and joining Arsenal would be attractive given their form in the last two years.

They will win the title on Sunday if they beat Everton and Manchester City drop points against West Ham United, and landing a quality number 9 in the summer could make all the difference next term.

Sesko has proven himself since his days in the Austrian 2. Liga, and Arsenal should not hesitate to go after their man as other suitors appear to have agreed that they are favourites to land him.
