Arsenal should use Jakub Kiwior in swap deal to sign Juventus star

Arsenal have the opportunity to negotiate a swap deal for one of Serie A’s best wide players.

The Gunners have made just one major signing in goalkeeper David Raya this summer, but they are expected to announce the arrival of defender Riccardo Calafiori in the near future.

A new winger could be the next priority and Sportmediaset today report that the Gunners have already made an enquiry for Italian star Federico Chiesa, who is expected to leave Juventus.

In our opinion, the Gunners have the chance to negotiate a swap deal for Chiesa, considering Juventus manager Thiago Motta has his sights on a reunion with defender Jakub Kiwior.

Chiesa would add more quality to Arsenal’s attack

Chiesa predominantly played from the second-striker role for the Bianconeri last season, but he is equally comfortable operating from both wide attacking positions.

In fact, he has been most successful from the right flank. Chiesa has registered 64 goal contributions from 130 appearances from the role for Fiorentina and Juventus.

He has also been a menacing attacking presence from the right wing for Italy and could provide the much-needed quality and depth behind Bukayo Saka at Arsenal.

Chiesa had a tough time with injuries after Euro 2020, but he stayed largely injury free last season, registering 10 goals and three assists from 37 appearances.

He is reportedly valued at £38 million by the Bianconeri, but they are unlikely to receive such a fee with no concrete interest from any other elite European club as of now.

In our view, the Gunners should try and take advantage of Juventus’ interest in Kiwior. A straight-swap deal seems reasonable with Chiesa in the last year of his contract.
