Arsenal keeping an eye on Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane amid uncertainty surrounding his future

Arsenal are keeping an eye on the contract situation of Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Leroy Sane, according to Sky Sports Germany.

The former Manchester City star is out of contract in 2025 at the Bundesliga club, but talks about signing a new deal are ongoing.

However, nothing is guaranteed as Bayern and Sane are yet to reach an agreement right now, and Arsenal are monitoring things, as their manager Mikel Arteta and the 28-year-old have a great relationship.

Sane prefers to remain at Bayern, and the appointment of his former Man City teammate Vincent Kompany as the new manager could influence his decision.

The Germany international established a solid friendship with Arteta while the Arsenal boss was an assistant coach to Pep Guardiola at Man City, praising him in April in an interview.

“Thanks to him and his ideas, I improved quickly,” Sane said.

“I still have them in my head and try to implement them in games.”

It was during that time Guardiola called the winger the ‘best in the world’ when it comes to playing out wide, and Arsenal could do with such a player within their ranks.

Sane can play on both wings and through the middle, with his direct style of play, dribbling and passing his key strengths.

He ended his time in the Premier League with 25 goals and 29 assists in 90 games and has bagged 48 goals and 50 assists in 175 games for Bayern.

Arteta made him a better player at Man City, and a reunion between the two would help bring out the best in the attacker once again.

Arsenal could do with his experience and quality as they go in search of the Premier League title again next term, but getting a deal done for him is not on the cards right now and they will keep watching to see which decision he will make regarding his future at the Allianz Arena club.
