Bournemouth want Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah as Dominic Solanke replacement
|AFC Bournemouth are eyeing a summer move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah as they look for a replacement for their former hitman Dominic Solanke, according to Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam.
The Cherries sold the one-cap England international to Tottenham Hotspur in a £65 million deal and are now looking to move for his Gunners counterpart.
They are yet to table a bid for the Arsenal star, and getting him could prove tricky as he is not short of suitors.
Ligue 1 club Marseille have already moved on in their pursuit to sign Nketiah despite several weeks of talks and have gone for Elye Wahi.
Arsenal are willing to sell the 25-year-old, but suitors have to bring a decent bid and terms to the table.
He is behind Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order and would struggle for playing chances if he does not leave.
Bournemouth have cash to splash after Spurs parted with an initial £55m for Solanke, with the remaining £10m to come in add-ons, and they could be willing to meet the demands of the Gunners.
Selling Nketiah will help Arsenal with funds as they look to make further recruitment this summer.
The North London club have only added Italy international defender Riccardo Calafiori to their first-team so far having already completed a permanent move for Spain international goalkeeper David Raya.
They are in talks with Real Sociedad to sign midfielder Mikel Merino, but getting a deal done has proven difficult so far.
Arsenal could do with a top striker this season, but signing one could be contingent on Nketiah departing, and fans will hope something happens quickly over the coming days.
