Southampton revive interest in Aaron Ramsdale after Justin Bijlow failed his medical, Arsenal goalkeeper not keen on move

Southampton have revived their interest in Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale after their proposed transfer of Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow fell through due to concerns over a previous injury raised during his medical, according to The Times.
The Saints had the Gunners star on their radar earlier in the summer but moved on to the Netherlands international and agreed terms with his club to buy him.
However, they are back for Ramsdale after Bijlow failed his medical, but getting the Arsenal man could prove tricky.
The England international is not keen to move to the south coast, and the Gunners also prefer a permanent transfer rather than the loan deal Southampton are suggesting.
Wolverhampton Wanderers were also linked with Ramsdale and were keen on a loan deal too.
However, they have backed out as the £20 million package Arsenal want, coupled with the personal demands of the Englishman were too much for them.
Ajax also had a loan offer for the former Bournemouth star rejected by the Gunners, with the club hoping to recoup the £24m they paid to Sheffield United for his services in 2021.
Arsenal have already lined up Espanyol’s Joan Garcia as a potential replacement for Ramsdale, while a late move for Wigan Athletic goalie Sam Tickle ahead of the transfer deadline on Friday has been mooted.
A move to Southampton could be in the best interest of the Gunners star, especially if he wants to remain a part of the England squad following the departure of manager Gareth Southgate.
Both Arsenal and the player may need to lower their demands if a move is to happen, and there is very little time in the window to wrap things up concerning his exit.
