Martin Odegaard stands out for Norway in frustrating draw vs Kazakhstan

Norway started their Nations League campaign against Kazakhstan on Friday night.

Martin Odegaard played the full 90 minutes for Norway at the Ortalyq stadıon. He conjured up some impressive statistics despite the game ending in a goalless draw.

The Arsenal captain had 106 touches with a passing accuracy of 89 percent. He won a stunning 14 duels alongside eight take-ons while registering four key passes.

The 25-year-old also drew five fouls from the opposition with two interceptions. It was a wonderful individual display for Odegaard which should please Arsenal.

The midfielder has not been at his sparkling best during the early part of the season. He squandered big scoring chances against Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Against the latter, Odegaard picked up knocks to his knee and ankle in the first half, but he looked in good touch for Norway last night as they shared the spoils on the road.

Norway’s next Nations League game will be against Austria at home on Monday night. Odegaard is expected to play the full 90 minutes, considering he is the leader.

Hopefully, he can deliver a goal or an assist before returning to London. The Gunners face Tottenham Hotspur on the road in the Premier League on September 15.

Odegaard has scored twice in the north London derby, ending on the winning side on five occasions. Arsenal will be aiming to beat Spurs at their stadium for the third straight season.
