Riccardo Calafiori shines for Arsenal in full Premier League debut vs Man City

Arsenal continued their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Gunners made a slow start on the road. Erling Haaland bagged his 100th goal for the Cityzens from a clever through ball from Savinho.

The London giants levelled the scores in the 22nd minute from a Riccardo Calafiori wonderstrike.

Gabriel Magalhaes scored for the second game running from a corner to put the Gunners ahead during first-half stoppage time.

Leandro Trossard’s sending off before the break changed the dynamics, but Arsenal managed to hold on for a point in the end.

Calafiori had a fantastic full league debut for the Gunners.

He was outsmarted by Savinho in the lead-up to the Haaland goal, but made amends with one of the goals of the campaign.

Despite the immense pressure after the break, Calafiori maintained a passing accuracy of 94% with three tackles (100% accuracy).

The 6ft 2in star also won four ground and aerial duels while making four clearances.

Calafiori announced his arrival in the Premier League with a fabulous showing and hopefully, he will be fit for the next league game.

He was substituted in the 74th minute with possibly cramp, considering manager Mikel Arteta did not confirm any kind of injury.

David Raya earned the plaudits yesterday for his superb shot-stopping while Magalhaes grabbed the headlines with another goal.

However, Calafiori was equally as good as the pair. Arsenal fans will be hoping that he can continue his superb start to his career.
