Arsenal boost as PSG drop Ousmane Dembele from Tuesday’s UCL matchday squad
|Arsenal host Paris Saint-Germain tomorrow in their second game of the group phase of the Champions League, and the French club will be without Ousmane Dembele – their best player this season.
The France international has been dropped by manager Luis Enrique for the trip to London for the match against Arsenal tomorrow.
Dembele and Enrique had an argument after the game against Rennes on Friday night and Enrique was far from pleased with the attitude of the forward.
The Gunners started their 2024-25 Champions League campaign with a goalless draw with Atalanta away from home on September 19, while PSG left it late to beat Girona 1-0 at the Parc des Princes.
Arsenal will be desperate to return to winning ways, and facing a PSG team without Dembele is a huge boost.
The former Barcelona star has four goals and four assists in seven games across all competitions for the Ligue 1 club so far this season, and being without him is a blow for the French team.
Arsenal face Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan, Sporting Lisbon, AS Monaco, Dinamo Zagreb and Girona in their other league games of the elite European competition, and a victory tomorrow will help boost their chances of finishing up the table ahead of the round of 16.
They were dumped out by Bayern Munich in the quarter-final last season and will look to go as far as they can this term.
Arsenal have never won the Champions League before and they have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with any club in Europe this season.
