Juventus identify Arsenal star as one of their main objectives in January

Juventus could do transfer business with Arsenal in January following a long-term knee injury sustained by Gleison Bremer, according to Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri were regularly linked with Jakub Kiwior during the summer transfer window with suggestions that he could be interested in reuniting with manager Thiago Motta.

However, a move did not materialise. The north London giants eventually informed the Poland international that they want to keep him beyond the transfer deadline.

Kiwior has since played only 17 minutes of regular action in the Premier League and Tuttosport claim that the Bianconeri see him as one of their ‘main objectives’ for January.

Bremer is out for the long-term with a serious knee issue. It is reported that the Turin giants could prise Kiwior away amid his lack of regular playing time with the Gunners.

Arsenal unlikely to sanction loan exit for Kiwior

Kiwior was the subject of interest from multiple Serie A clubs in the summer. Juventus did not make an approach, but he received offers from Napoli, Bologna, Fiorentina and Inter.

None of them were prepared to meet the Gunners’ £17 million asking price. This meant that the club were more than happy to keep him instead of considering a loan departure.

In our view, Arsenal are likely to maintain a similar stance at the turn of the year. The Bianconeri could come up with a permanent bid for Kiwior after the huge setback for Bremer.

Motta knows Kiwior very well from their time together at Spezia. Kiwior played as a central defender and a holding midfielder under Motta. His progress earned him a surprise move to the Gunners.

Kiwior, who has been described as an ‘extraordinary’ footballer with ‘really great’ potential by Robert Lewandowski, has fared well in key games for Arsenal, but he is not an assured starter.

Arsenal could be prepared to let him go for the right price this winter.
