Arsenal defender could leave this month amid Inter Milan interest

Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko could leave the club this month, according to Daily Mail.

The Ukraine international has had a difficult campaign with the Gunners, and has made only 11 appearances in all competitions.

The left-back has dropped down the pecking order and is presently behind Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly for a starting role.

Daily Mail now claim that Arsenal are prepared to listen to offers for multiple players including Gabriel Jesus at the end of the season.

Zinchenko is another candidate who could head for the exit door. It is reported that he could depart during the winter transfer window.

Zinchenko’s exit would not come as a surprise

The former Manchester City man was an undisputed starter during his debut season with Arsenal, but his influence has dropped over the past year.

Several teams have exploited Zinchenko’s defensive weakness, and manager Mikel Arteta no longer trusts him with a starting position in the league or Europe.

Jurrien Timber played regularly as a makeshift left-back when Calafiori was injured earlier this campaign.

The emergence of Lewis-Skelly has proved another setback for Zinchenko. The teenager has been a revelation since making his full club debut.

Zinchenko, who was recruited by Arsenal for £30 million in 2022, could leave this winter.

Inter Milan are interested in signing him, but the Nerazzurri could explore a bargain deal, given Zinchenko’s reduced game time and injuries.

Arsenal could be willing to cut their losses on the defender with the opportunity to remove his £150,000-a-week salary from their increasing wage bill.

Zinchenko was a late substitute against Newcastle United in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. He may have played his final game for Arsenal.
