Arsenal in the picture to sign Spanish striker from Porto

Arsenal are in the picture to sign one of Spain’s emerging strikers, according to A Bola.
The Gunners have had a mixed campaign due to injuries and inconsistent form. The club are yearning for a marquee striker, and they are likely to invest big in the summer.
A Bola today claim that Arsenal have had scouts monitoring the performances of Spanish ace Samu Aghehowa, who has been brilliant in his debut season with Porto.
The 20-year-old has netted 20 goals and provided three assists in just 32 appearances, and it is suggested that he could be on the move during the next transfer window.
Aghehowa won’t suit Arsenal’s playing style
The former Atletico Madrid striker has made a big impression in the Portuguese top-flight. He arrived as a replacement for Evanilson and has already proved his credentials.
There should be high-profile interest in him from the Premier League, but we doubt whether Arsenal will make an approach as his playing style may not suit the manager.
Manager Mikel Arteta prefers a striker who is pretty mobile and can link up play. The Spanish tactician also demands a tireless work rate as well as defensive contributions.
Aghehowa is not known for his distribution. He is more of a traditional number nine. He has struggled in winning ground duels and has a success rate of just 32 percent.
In our view, the Gunners are unlikely to make an approach for the £42 million-rated star. The priority could be on landing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig instead.
Sesko will have a release clause between £58m and £66m this summer. The Gunners could make a renewed move for him after a failed proposal prior to the European Championship last year.
